For referring clinicians
Refer a patient to Grounded Therapy
What we take, who is accepting this week, and who we are not the right fit for.We are a telehealth practice of doctoral-level psychologists (PhD, PsyD) licensed in
California, with additional licensure in Minnesota, New York, and Colorado. If you are
discharging a patient who needs outpatient follow-up, or you have someone on your caseload who
is a better fit elsewhere, this page is the short version of what we take and how to reach us.

whether they scheduled, and we will coordinate with you on treatment where it helps their care.
Without that authorization we cannot confirm anything, including whether they reached out —
so if a closed loop matters to you, have them sign a release naming you before they leave.
IOP, and residential care, and we would rather have a two-way relationship than a one-way
referral list. If your program takes step-ups, tell us what you take and who to call.

How to refer
Two routes, both direct to a person:- Call (858) 208-0380. Fastest, and best if the discharge date is close or
you want to talk through fit before sending anything. - Email hello@groundedtherapy.org
with the referral basics. Please do not send clinical records or identifying detail by
unencrypted email — send your contact information and we will reply from an encrypted
address, or take it by phone.
We verify the patient’s exact benefits and copay before their first
session, at no cost to them — so a referral does not stall on an insurance question they cannot
answer.

Who we are not the right fit for
Said plainly, so you do not spend a call finding out:- Anyone in crisis or needing urgent or emergency care. We are outpatient
and scheduled; we cannot take an acute referral. For emergencies, 911 or 988. - Medication management. We are psychologists and do not prescribe. We work
alongside prescribers and are glad to coordinate. - Psychological, neuropsychological, or ADHD testing. We do not offer
assessment or evaluations — treatment only. - Children under about 10. Dr. Habashy is our only clinician who sees
minors, from roughly 10 up; everyone else is adults. - Anyone who needs to be seen in person. We are telehealth only.
- Anyone outside California, Minnesota, New York, or Colorado — and most of
our bench is California-only. Check the table above before you send. - Couples and family work is limited to specific clinicians rather than the
whole practice, so ask first.
What comes back to you
With the patient’s written authorization, we will confirm that they made contact andwhether they scheduled, and we will coordinate with you on treatment where it helps their care.
Without that authorization we cannot confirm anything, including whether they reached out —
so if a closed loop matters to you, have them sign a release naming you before they leave.
We refer out too
When acuity exceeds what outpatient telehealth can safely hold, we step patients up to PHP,IOP, and residential care, and we would rather have a two-way relationship than a one-way
referral list. If your program takes step-ups, tell us what you take and who to call.
