Working with Jessica
I work with adults across California, and with teens from about 10 up, on OCD, anxiety, trauma, depression, ADHD, and eating disorders. I'm likely a good fit if intrusive thoughts pull you into checking, rechecking, or asking for reassurance; if worry runs ahead of you and you can't switch it off; if something from the past still sets the terms of your day; or if you've been told you're managing fine while it quietly costs you more than anyone can see.
For OCD I use Exposure and Response Prevention: you build tolerance for the thought without performing the ritual, at a pace you set, never flooding. For trauma I use Cognitive Processing Therapy and Trauma-Informed Guilt Reduction Therapy, which work on the beliefs an experience leaves behind rather than only the memory of it. For anxiety, mood, and ADHD I draw on CBT, ACT, and DBT skills. Most of this is structured and time-limited, so you should be able to tell whether it's working.
I also carry specialist eating-disorder training from UCSD — CBT-E for adults, FBT for families — and it matters here for a specific reason: disordered eating often travels alongside OCD and anxiety, and it is the thing most often left unasked about. If food or body is part of your picture, we can take it on directly instead of working around it. If it isn't, it won't come up. Either way I treat culture, body, and identity as part of the work, and I build the plan around the person in front of me.
What Jessica treats
Constant worry or racing thoughts, panic, that "what if" loop you can't switch off.
A painful relationship with food, eating, or your body, and the toll it takes day to day.
Intrusive thoughts you can't shake, and the checking or rituals you do to feel okay.
Care that accounts for your culture, background, and identity — and never asks you to leave any part of yourself at the door.
Low mood, loss of interest, exhaustion, or feeling stuck and disconnected from what used to matter.
Affirming support for queer lives and relationships, from someone who won't make you explain the basics.
Feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed, or running on empty — a low-pressure place to start when everything feels like too much.
Understanding how your brain works — ADHD, autism, focus, follow-through — and building a life that works with it, not against it.
Affirming support around gender identity and transition, with collaborative care that centers you.
Struggling after a really stressful experience — difficult memories, sleep, feeling on edge, and changes in how you see yourself, other people, or the world.
Jessica also brings specific experience with: Family, Identity Exploration, Sex & Gender, College Students, Life Transitions, Body Liberation, Perfectionism, Self-Esteem, First-Gen, Marginalized backgrounds.
